Sociology
The BA in Sociology program entails 30 hours of coursework beyond general education and minor requirements in the College of Liberal Arts. Students must take Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory, and Methods of Social Research. Additionally, they take courses to better understand inequalities and responses to them, especially in the areas of Social Stratification, Sociology of Gender, and Race and Ethnicity. (Currently, students must take at least two of these inequalities courses.) The additional requirement of 15 hours of electives and the Proficiency in Sociology assessment experience complete the program.
