Lambda Alpha, the anthropology honors society, is sponsoring National Scholarships, Research Grants, and a 50th Anniversary Founder’s Student Paper Competition. The National Scholarship of $5000 will be awarded to one true senior; one nomination is permitted per chapter. The application requires a letter of nomination, a CV, copies of academic transcripts, two letters of recommendation, a statement of future professional plans, and a 10-page paper (any anthropological topic). One graduate student per chapter can be nominated for the $2000 research grant (in either archaeology, bioarchaeology or cultural). The application requires a letter of nomination, CV, copies of transcripts, and a 5-page thesis proposal, and is intended to support field work. In addition, the 50th Anniversary Founder’s Paper competition will award between $25 (honorable mention), $300 (third place), $400 (second place) and $700 (first place) to an undergraduate and a graduate student for a paper in anthropology. Papers will be published in the society’s journal.
