Mailroom & Office Supplies

Departmental Mailroom 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, even as the department continues to work remotely,
the department mailroom will remain available to all faculty, staff, and graduate student employees.

Routine Mailroom Cleaning Protocol

Cleaning of the mailroom, equipment, and other touched surfaces is a shared responsibility. As they enter the space, Department employees using the mailroom will use provided cleaning supplies to wipe down the surfaces that they will touch while in the room.

Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes are provided on the wall on the right. Please notify Evelyn immediately if cleaning supplies appear to be running low.

Department provided office supplies 

Office supplies (including paper, pens, folders, etc.) will be stocked and located in the mailroom as usual.  Please feel free to continue to access those supplies by going to the mailroom in Lamar Hall to pick them up.  If we have run out of something you need, please notify Evelyn.

If there is anyone that does not feel comfortable coming to Lamar Hall to pick up an item, please contact Evelyn at evefre@olemiss.edu and we will figure out a way to get the needed items to you.

If a department member has made a specific request for something that he/she needs (such as a replacement printer toner cartridge); it will be placed in the mailroom (generally in their mailbox, but on the table if it will not fit).

If you need supplies that are not in the mailroom, please do one of the following:

1.     Contact Evelyn and she will order the items; you may then pick then pick them up from the mailroom when they arrive (this could take several days or up to two weeks; as we will need time for the order to be delivered, and then placed in the mailroom.)

2.     Contact Evelyn and see about the possibility of having them delivered to your home address.

In cases where you need materials sooner, please do the following:

1.     Check with Evelyn first and then order/purchase the items yourself using your own payment method, keep the receipt, and then submit a Request for Payment to Christy to be reimbursed.  (*Note: Be sure to check with Evelyn first, some items may not be reimbursable any longer due to budget constraints and new COVID19 restrictions)

Incoming Mail

All incoming mail, including UPS, Fed-Ex and other packages will be left in the mail room.  Mail that fits in the box will be placed there; all other packages will be placed on the table with your name on it.
